The genre of string quartets offers the members of the Animato Quartet a unique opportunity for endless exploration. Playing the music is both a challenge and a delight for them. The Animato Quartet aims for a vivid interpretation of traditional repertoire as well as new repertoire written for them. They have performed at the Dr. Anton Phillips Hall in The Hague, the Dr. Alem hall in Campos Do Jordao Brazil, the Casa da Música in Portugal and the small hall of the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam. They took part in the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, The International Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog and Festival Classique The Hague. The Animato Quartet was a finalist of the National Conservatory Competition in 2014, which was held at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
The quartet was invited to give concerts during the HARMOS festival in Portugal and the 'Festival International de Inverno de Campos do Jordao "in Brazil. During this festival the Animato Quartet received an award for "Artistic Excellence" for their performance. The quartet follows lessons with Eberhard Feltz , Gerhard Schulz, Johannes Meissl, Anner Bylsma, Hatto Beyerle, Dimitri Ferschtman, Ásdís Valdimarsdóttir, Jan Willem de Vriend, David Dolan, Michel Strauss, Vera Beths, the Escher Quartet and the Quiroga Quartet. Recently they attended their first European Chamber Music Academy which they will attend more often as an nominated ensemble. All members of the quartet are currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. The quartet received their instruments on loan by the Dutch National Music Instrument Foundation.
